So, I thought we could use this discussion to collect a good number of resources for job hunting in Tokyo, as well as, Japan in general. If we can collect a fair number of resources put together I will be able to compile a list for Tokyo Circle members and people just passing though.
Well, lets here some of the resources you use to score a gig in Tokyo!
This may not be for everyone but any English speakers looking for something other than a teaching job, may want to check out Butler's Cafe in Shibuya (near Tokyo Hands). My friends Yuki and Kazu own it and they're always looking for English speaking "butlers" (waiters).
It's people who hire people, so;
1. Leverage your network - so; expand your network (ie. know & interact with 10x the people you now do)
2. Be very clear on how they can help you - so; know with as much detail as possible what you want & how people can help you (20% of your interaction with people)
3. Help other people - so; ask and understand how you can help other people (80% of your interaction with people)
